Twice a week.
The 2 Day Australian Tour combines two of our day tours to cover the top-to- bottom of Australia’s action on the Western Front.
Day 1 – Out in the Somme is south of Arras in the long, rolling hills of the Somme. Through farming villages and towns. Pozieres, Le Hamel, Villers-Bretonneux. Where 100 years on Australian efforts are still proudly remembered by the local communities.
Day 2 – Fromelles-Ypres takes you north, the morning spent at Fromellles before crossing the border into Belgium for our lunch. The afternoon we venture up to Messines to traverse the ridges of the Ypres Salient, the path of the Australian action of 1917.
A relaxing dinner in the old town of Ypres prepares us for the emotive Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate. A fitting way to finish this two day visit to the Western Front.
All tours are based in the old town of Arras. We can recommend or organize accommodation in hotels or guest houses our clients have happily stayed at. Pick-up/drop- off is at your accommodation in Arras or at the train station.
